Here I stopped by, to reflect my yesterdays, being an observer of my own life...Past is like a dream...past incidents:favourable and adverse, experiences:ecstacy and misery, feelings:pleasure and pain, are all dissolved, incorrigible and cease to exist now.Present is all about awakening from the dream, being in the current moment fully awake and preparing for a future of our dreams!!

Success is an on going process. After one success there is another greater challenge waiting to be overcome...there is no time to rest on our laurels, life is a continuous strive to meet expectations, both ours and of the world-----Bindu----- More of it at http://portraitsofyesterday.blogspot.sg/p/as-i-see-it.html

Decisions have to be made...so...

Leave Cincinnati mom alone, you can’t imagine what she went through…

I love animals and have favoured and supported ‘People for animals’ in India. What happened in the zoo was unfortunate, but at times decisions have to be made…People raise voice against the carelessness of a mom, but we don’t realise it as an accident.

I remember an incident that happened in my life and how my mom suffered her whole life by thinking of it as her mistake.

In a flashback, when technology hadn’t reached millions of people around the world I bring you back to New Delhi, the capital of India. There in the middle of a meadow, a little girl was sitting and playing with imaginary beings around her. Nature enthralled her, sunshine after breakfast hours, tiny insects crawling over grass blades and jumping from the top of it, tiny dew drops on grass, little flowers popping out from the grass in all different colours, all of these were of great wonderment for her. Her mother was washing the previous day’s clothes and tiny streams of soap water moving in channels resembled rivers that were eager to reach ocean. Once the chore was done, the mother and daughter walked up to the apartment in the second floor of the building. Imaginary beings followed the little girl and her imaginary cow was in the house feeling very hungry. So she snapped a few blades of grass and held it behind her with great care and at the same time wanting to hide it from the mother who is extremely cautious of keeping the house tidy and thus any such ‘garbage’ would not be allowed inside the house. After opening the apartment door, mom realized that the daughter was up to some mischief and that she was hiding something in her hand. Mom gently requested her to show what she was hiding, and suddenly a strange sensation of fear engrossed the daughter and she was reluctant to show what was in her hand, after a while the mom’s voice gained tints of anger at the daughter’s disobedience and the daughter’s adamant reaction added oil to the fire. Slowly the mom came nearer to the daughter and the daughter started to move backwards without turning around. In this heated moment, both mother and daughter over looked the long steep staircase leading to the apartment. In the split of a second the daughter lost her grip on the last step and fell backwards, rolling down the stairs one after the other. She was trying miserably to stop. She could see the terrified mom running after her, dashing down the steps but couldn’t catch up with her due to the steepness of the stairs. Blood was oozing down from the daughter’s head, elbows and knees. The numbing sense of shock and fear and piercing sense of painful wounds engrossed the daughter and both mother and daughter cried, cried and cried.

Yes it is my story. Ultimately, I was rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences by two neighbors who were strangers at that period of time. My mother had to endure a long agonizing period of answering curious visitors in the evening. She was indirectly accused of being careless in taking care of me though she wouldn’t have, even in her worst nightmare, thought of doing so. She carried this scar of thought deep in her heart throughout her life.

Let us leave the mom in the Cincinnati zoo incident alone…The scar of the ignorance of a moment would be deeply engraved in her heart forever and that in itself is a grievance for life…

The best Ang Pao ever...

something that came across today....

 "Leave off hungry"
"One ought to remove even the bowl of nectar from the lips. Demand is the measure of value. Even with regard to bodily thirst it is a mark of good taste to slake but not to quench it. Little and good is twice good. The second time comes a great falling off. Surfeit of pleasure was ever dangerous and brings down the ill-will of the Highest Powers. The only way to please is to revive the appetite by the hunger that is left. If you must excite desire, better do it by the impatience of want than by the repletion of enjoyment. Happiness earned gives double joy"

Aman, you shall be missed...

Aman left to India for good after serving us for a long 5 years and 10 months... She left due to family commitments...She called me 'didi' and there was much loyalty, love and sincerity in it... She took care of Kannan from his 6th month. She did her job diligently and with utmost professionalism... An epitome of hardwork, discipline and efficiency. She worked without complaining, she adviced children to listen to us, she obeyed all my instructions diligently...she packed food for me everyday...she didn't touch her mobile phone during the day time and would use it only after retreating to bedroom to sleep around 9 pm. When children disobeyed at times, she was hurt and when I was hurt she pacified me...while leaving, she told me to forgive all the mistakes she did,...but then I couldn't remember any...

It must be the weather...:-) beautiful lines...

A Good bye forever!!

Good byes are not forever,
Good byes are until we meet again!
Good byes were told innumerable times
Good byes did hurt each time it was told.
But you left without even a hint,
When you REALLY left...!!!
Will see you up there...
And u will never be forgiven for this...
Sometimes, you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory...
